Invitation to the Ibn Rushd Prize ceremony 2017 for AMAN, the Coalition for Accountability and Integrity

The Ibn Rushd Fund for Freedom of Thought is delighted to announce the Coalition for Accountability and Integrity AMAN - Transparency Palestine as winner of the 18th Ibn Rushd Prize for this year's topic Fighting Corruption.

The Ibn Rushd Prize 2017 called for:

a person (natural or legal) or an institution who has made an outstanding contribution to combatting corruption. The successes of this commitment must be appreciable for the society in question and universally evaluable.

The jury of this year's Ibn Rushd Prize assessed nominations from five Arabic countries. It consisted of Atta el-Battahani (Sudan), Ahlem Belhadj (Tunisia), Hassan Nafaa (Egypt), and Natacha Sarkis (Lebanon).

By awarding AMAN with this year's prize, the Ibn Rushd Fund honours their unyielding battle against corruption, as well as raising the public's awareness for social evils brought about by corruption, such as the violation of civil rights, the unequal distribution of wealth and the hindrance of a sustainable political and economic development.

 

INVITATION

The award ceremony will take place on Friday December 1, 2017 in the Werkstatt der Kulturen in Berlin. The event will start at 7pm, doors open at 6.30pm.
